John is backing the campaign to keep Southampton’s leisure centres in public hands. 

He explains, “There’s nothing wrong with the way they’re currently run.  They're award winning and they’ve recently been refurbished with public money.  The Tory-led Council say the service should be privatised for ideological reasons. I think they should do what’s best for the public."

Labour councillors have been campaigning alongside enraged members of the public in opposition to this move; petitioning residents outside the leisure centres, on the door-step and now online.
