After Saturday's campaigning across the city centre, my team moved onto Sholing and Peartree on Sunday. For the first time in the campaign the morning wet weather forced us off the streets and back to join the telephone canvassers. Ray Collins, Labour Party General Secretary joined us as the weather cleared in the afternoon.
I peeled away to the Council of Churches hustings in the Whites Road Methdoist Church. Well behaved panel (and audience) got through a lot of questions. Labour's manifesto is the only one of the major manifestos to recognise the importance of faith to millions of people., and its role in motivating social action - its inclusion reflects the work I did in the past twelve months at Communities and Local Government.
To London in the evening - two hours because of engineering works - ahead of a round of GMTV, Today and Sky first thing in the morning.

Hectic campaign across the Bargate (City Centre) ward. Interest in Clegg amongst LP voters waning sharply as the real choice becomes clear. Noted that the Guardian came out for the LibDems the same day Clegg said he wanted to destroy the Labour Party. Very Guardian.
