John Denham is to meet Deborah Aplin, the Managing Director of Crest Nicholson Regeneration Ltd on Monday (16th June). Crest Nicholson is the company behind the scheme to develop the former VT site in Woolston and John Denham wants to talk to the company about how the new scheme differs from the earlier plans.
John Denham said “I am pleased that SEEDA (South East England Development Agency) and the developers have managed to secure marine jobs in the area by attracting Palmer Johnson, the super yacht building firm, to build a base on the Woolston site. But I am concerned that the current housing plans have a higher density than originally envisaged and that public access to the waterfront may be more restricted. My concerns are clearly shared by the 1000 people who have objected over the new plans. I look forward to discussing my concerns with the company.” |
