John Denham, Labour MP for Southampton Itchen, will be visiting St Mary’s Primary School in Ascupart St, Golden Grove on Friday (4th July).  He is visiting to help publicise the school’s quest for sponsorship to provide PE kits for the school’s 500 pupils.

John was invited to help by parent governor Maria Smith.  He said “I am looking forward to my visit to meet the staff, governors and pupils of this inner-city school and hope that my visit will encourage more companies to offer sponsorship.   I hear that the school has already raised £2200, which is excellent, but it needs to raise another £2000.  I’m grateful on the school’s behalf to those companies and individuals who have already helped and if any other companies would like to help they should contact Maria Smith at the school.”
