Diwali greeting from John

Like many religious holidays Diwali is a time when friends, neighbours and the whole community join together to rejoice, give thanks and celebrate.

Hindus, Sihks and Jains all draw meaning from the day.   Although they have different ways of marking the event, they all share in lighting lamps to represent the triumph of light over ignorance, oppression and cruelty.

This symbolic triumph of good over darkness is an aspiration to which we can all relate.  The message of reflection, of optimism and hope for the future is one which we can all share.

I wish everyone a very happy Diwali.
