A Statement On Expenses
MPs across the country have been hearing of the results of Sir Thomas Legg's audit. In responce to the letter John recieved from Sir Thomas John said:
"I have been asked to repay around £400 for two armchairs which Legg has deemed too expensive (though the claim was approved by the fees office at the time.) I will, of course, repay this money.
"Legg has also calculated that I have been over-paid approximately £1000 in mortgage interest payments over five years. The calculations are being checked but I will repay anything owed.
"Legg has also asked for confirmation of mortgage details. These have previously been supplied but I will be glad to supply them again."
